Logotype work

When I get an idea I just need to sketch it down on a paper, no computers! This time Im designing a retro logotype, that will be printed on a vinyl and later sticked on a door for a 1966 VW beetle. I cleaned the logo up in Illustrator and got it vectorized in the same time. Later I wanted to add some color and add vintage effects this was done in Photoshop. Why the name Java Express? Well, the original color on the car is called “Java grüne” but over the years it have got a lot of patina “rustlook” too it so I came up with the idea of “Java Express – Coffee with a rusty taste”. Just need to find some old cool coffee cans to put up on the roofrack and we are ready to express in style.

Airsuspension setup

I made this quick illustrations when I tryed to figure out a good setup for the rear airride suspension on my Fleetline. But it wont work on my rear suspensions since it is a “closed” driveline, but this airride system would work on an “open” driveline, like on modern cars…not on a early 1950′s design, like mine. I need to go with a 2-link rear suspension instead. More will come about this!

MB Flyer & card project 2011

MeanBugs Online E-zine needed a flyer for their new website/online magazine. I did design the website too, read more here! This is what I came up with for their printing needs. Background photo is on my old Volkswagen from 1955, I took the photograph in the countryside of Sweden, Europe. The logotype did I make some years ago, I drawed it up by hand, scanned it in to the computer. Vectorized it in Adobe Illustrator, with orange outlines and ivorywhite in the middle. The orange comes back in the text on the flyer.

It got printed in 1000 copies, on thick glossy paper to get all the colors to pop! The businesscards featuring the clean magazine picture in full color, the orange comes back in the text here also. The backside contains contact information to the writers.
Printed in 1500 copies, on thick cardboard paper in full color and glossy frontside. The flyer and cards will be handed out at the Volksworld Show in Sanddown Park outside London March 26-27 this year. They will also be shipped out to the MB writers, that means Brazil, Netherlands and Tenerife. Cool!
